Research interests:

Joanne has an MPhil and PhD in Social Science and her main area of teaching is behavioural studies. Her research mainly focused on psychology, and she has leveraged her knowledge across diverse spheres and samples. Her work has enriched fields like education, where she has investigated adolescents’ metacognitive strategies, emotion and mental health. She also has keen interests in teachers’ pedagogical practices, to champion innovative approaches. In the realm of technology adoption, her work involved in unraveling the psychological intricacies underpinning user behavior and preferences. She has also researched rural tourism to shed light on the unique socio-cultural dynamics that shape residents’ place ownership and attachment to inform sustainable development strategies.
